Japjeevun / by Mila Boekestyn

Just over 2 weeks young, this lucky guy was surrounded by love: his parents, grandparents and his uncle - they were all there and everyone was so excited to take pictures with little Japjeevun. His grandpa skillfully made a little turban in no time for some pictures with traditional Indian instruments. It was a very enlightening photoshoot for me and my daughter Sophia (who often comes with me to the photoshoot as she is a great assistant and is wonderful with older siblings) as we have learned allot about Sikhism from Japjeevun's dad Ram.  Now I know why everyone was wearing a bracelet (Kara) including little Japjeevun - it symbolizes eternity, an everyday reminder that God has no beginning and no end. World, meet Japjeevun!
